The SmartFan Original fan is the only device that pushes the air in different directions simultaneously; this smaller fan cools the top chamber to secure a better temperature divergency, therefore increasing efficiency. What if my stove doesn’t have a flat surface?

The Sirocco, produced in Lithuania by the German company – Hansa, has been one of the first stove fans on the European market. Weighing nearly 2kg, it’s quite heavy when compared to other Peltier stove fans. It has a massive heat sink which secures energy accumulation, so the fan works long after the fire in the stove dies down. The fan’s base is equipped with three screws which act as feet and six threaded holes so the fan can be levelled if the stove top surface isn’t perfectly horizontal. Another purpose of the countersunk screws is to lift the fan so it stays away from a stove top that might get too hot for the fan’s motor and Peltier module. Operation is praised for being quiet, while the design is subtle and easily blends in with the majority of stove styles, both contemporary and classic. When choosing a stove fan that will be right for your home, you need to take into consideration how much space you have above your stove and how big the room your stove is located in is.A temperature gauge is an energy-efficient features which lets you monitor the heat and performance of your stove fan. You can use it to optimise its efficiency which will prevent against damage from overheating. To operate on lower temperature stoves the SmartFan LT ranges have a special Peltier module installed that – unfortunately – won’t withstand any temperature above 190 centigrade so they cannot be used interchangeably on all kinds of stoves. The fan’s performance can be affected by a few other factors specific to the individual heating appliance surroundings, like the depth and shape of the recess, the height of an aperture etc. So, use your fan’s top handle to move it around the top plate of your stove to determine the right position for the best performance – just make sure you keep the fan away from the flue and never in front of it. The fan blades are mounted on the platform above the mini Stirling engine and a belt powered with the energy harnessed from the stove top drives the fan; which added to a graphite piston, borosilicate cylinder and contrasting brass screws and counterbalances, it is a thing of pure beauty. Bigger rooms require stove fans with greater air-moving capacities — something measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Therefore, stove fans with a higher CFM will mean you will use less fuel for burning in your stove. When the air heats up, the Sterling engine expands, thrusting a piston upward; when the air drops in temperature, the engine contracts, drawing the same piston downward. This rapid succession provides power that transforms the heat energy to mechanical energy used to turn the fan blade.
