i think the momentum might be a good choice if you are looking for a more relaxed sounding headphone that is comfortable to wear. i dont think i found a closed can with better comfort than the momentum so far. also the soundstage for a closed can is pretty good. The HD 25 PLUS is identical to the HD 25 (2016 model) but comes fully equipped witha 3m/1m coiled steel cable, a 1.5m straight steel cable, a handy storage pouch and a second set of ear pads in a soft velour version. The HD 25 headset is understated in its style. Though these headphones have been around for decades, they remain timelessly modern and simple, with a clear-cut finish. I’m thinking of 4 headphones – the B&O H6, the ATH ESW9a, the Beyer DT1350 (refresh), and possibly the Philips L2. Portability is a bit nebulous, but for me it’s just a matter of convenience rather than a specific function. The H6 has a great sound and is very portable, but the midrange color or tonal balance you’ll have to hear to know for sure. The ESW9a is my wife’s favorite and is very portable, has a very nice warm bass and perfect mids, with a soft treble. Not very rugged though. The DT1350 refresh I haven’t heard, but I owned 2 DT1350s before that, and if you were good with the new signature (somewhat analytical) it may be a great choice, and is very portable and rugged. The L2 may be a little too warm or bassy, so that’s to keep in mind. I think the B&W P7 is good, but rather bulky and the bass is loose or boomy. The sound they make is super clear, so I can hear every little detail in the music, which is just what I need when I’m mixing tunes.

Keep in mind that these DJ headphones are available to listen to either with dual cans or used with only one ear. If you’re only listening to sound in one headphone, there’s some risk that you’re going to miss out on some of the depth and quality you can get from these headphones. Mike, would you say these are the best portable headphones for electronic music so far? TMAs, M-100, other DJ headphones seem to be direct competitors, as are Ampeior and old 25s. M-100 seems to have a much wider soundstage, at least. If the headphones have sound in only one ear or differing sound levels in each ear or the sound in general is not what you expected then it needs to be determined where the issue lies - with the headphones or with the audio source. Well those two are very different, both very good. I am not a fan of the BA-dynamic mix on the 3003 but it’s a popular IEM.The sound is clear, loud, and reliable, so you know exactly what you’re producing at any given moment. Additionally, while the padding and comfort aren’t great, you do get a lightweight and durable design that’s difficult to beat.

They’re capable of handling a very high sound pressure level, and the rotatable capsule for single-ear listening makes for ideal monitoring headphones. The strong clamping force is something of a double-edged sword, helping keep the headphones in place and external sound at bay effectively but causing aches after using the HD 25 for prolonged periods. As such, over-ear headphones would be a better choice for those planning epic listening sessions. If like most pros, you fall in love with the technology after you’ve tried it, then you could always look into buying some accessories too.It’s also worth giving a shout-out to the Sennheiser’s unique design, which allows you to flip the left can off completely when you’re in the booth, or just swivel the cups according to your needs.
