If it’s been a long time since clay has touched your car paint, maybe Adam’s Medium Grade Clay Bar is the better choice. It’s a little more abrasive and handles heavier contamination and even overspray much better. With this medium grade clay bar however, polishing afterwards is advised to remove possible light marring, especially on soft or dark-colored car paints. Why should you do something by hand if you can do it faster and better with a machine? That’s certainly true in most cases, but it does not apply to clay barring. While claying with a polisher and a special hook-and-loop adapter pad seems the easy, fast way to go, we do not recommend it. Squirt some lubricant or detailing spray onto your body panels and add a small amount to your clay bar.

The Clay Cloth should be rinsed regularly to reduce the risk of any contamination marring the paintwork. A Clay Cloth can be cleaned and reused by simply rinsing with clean water and leaving to air dry. (Do not machine wash or wring out the towel as this can damage the materials on the cloth)In our experience, doing a cleaning procedure more extensively in one go saves time compared to doing it less extensive twice. Just to be clear: we doubled the initial number of passes, we did not apply more pressure. Afterwards, it felt smooth as butter, awesome result! Gently rub the Ultra Clay Towel or Mitt over the lubricated area until contaminants are removed and surface is smooth. Wipe area with a Microfiber Drying Towel. Continue in sections until the vehicle is fully decontaminated Pre-soak the Clay Cloth in water prior to use. Using a suitable solution, we recommend a pH neutral car shampoo, start wetting the cars surface you want to remove contamination from with the microfiber side of the Clay Cloth. Clay bars cannot be washed and typically last 3 to 12 car treatments, depending on the amount of contamination they have to absorb or encapsulate. Spray a clay lubricant on the clay towel & over the entire vehicle, focusing on one panel at a time.

Effectiveness –The consensus in the detailing community is that clay towels are not yet as effective at removing stubborn contaminants when compared to traditional clay bar ( about 90% ) Satisfied customers stress that it is very important to read and follow the application instructions carefully to get the best results.
