Roz could feel her Survival Instincts—the part of her computer brain that made her want to avoid danger and take care of herself so she could continue functioning properly. Her instincts were urging her to move away from the ocean. She carefully got to her feet and saw that high above the shore, the land was bursting with trees and grasses and flowers. It looked lush and safe up there. It looked like a much better place for our robot. She had just one problem. To get up there, she would have to climb the sea cliffs. Roz stumbled on until she found a patch of ground that was flat and open and carpeted with pine needles. It seemed like a safe place, and safety was all the robot really wanted, so she stood there, motionless, all perfect lines and angles set against the irregular shapes of the wilderness. After a while, the island starts to feel like home to Roz. Why is this? What does home feel like to you? All in all, I am happy that I read this series, about a robot, her goose son, an island, and now an escape. I would highly recommend both books to everyone. Be sure to bring tissues though. Once I had a detailed outline of the plot, it was time to write. The first few chapters flowed pretty smoothly. But the further I went, the clearer it became that the plot wasn’t as solid as I’d thought. Certain scenes didn’t make sense. There were too many characters. I needed to simplify the entire story arc. I spent countless hours researching and writing chapters that took place in a zoo, only to decide later that the zoo chapters were problematic, and I got rid of them all. I agonized over the names of each new character, trying to include a variety of names, renaming characters again and again, searching for the perfect name for each one.

She misses her animal friends and her adopted son (a little gosling) but she's realistic, her robot body is battered and dented. So we go from a lush green landscape full of animals and games to streets and buildings and robots working for humans. Since Roz is just another thing for the people there, she gets refurbished and is sold cheaply to a family to work on their farm. As we know, families come in all forms. Now that Roz has taken on the role of a mother to Brightbill, they have become like a little family. In what ways do they act like your family acts? In what ways are they different from any of the families that you know?Roz is no ordinary robot. After being washed up on the shore of a remote and wild island, she learned to adapt and make it her home, befriend its animal inhabitants and even adopt a small orphaned gosling, Brightbill. The farm parts were pretty fun. I loved reading about Roz and how she tried to make the farm profitable again, how she fixed the machines so they worked again. Thanks to her the farm came to life again. And not only that, she even tried making improvements. Helping out the animals around the farm. It was just so much fun, even with Roz missing her family and friends, the island, she still made a new home for her at this place.

Choose a chapter from the novel and create a storyboard that shows that chapter from another character’s point of view. Roz has some amazing help, and again, her skills of talking with animals and blending in with her environment really help her out. We read a five little monkeys book and then over time wrote 4 sequels to that story. We put the monkeys into different situations, introduced cousins and aunts.
