This tome covers all the key Kill Team rules for both the Ork Kommandos and the Veteran Guardsman, detailing rare equipment, tactical ploys, and a range of battlefield roles. This level of detail and beauty continues across the entire sprue, which comes with multiple head options, two torsos, and a selection of accessories and wargear to ensure you can truly make the miniature your own.

As for the abilities, Ride The Wind gives a free guaranteed 6″ advance, making it even better and running all over the board. The ability to gain cover with their Cloak is nice but is obviously board and terrain dependent.Then we can really start whinging on not having a single new Tyranid model in almost a decade. As folks have also pointed out the Dark Vengeance box set from around 10 years ago contained way more models, all of which were “new” at the time, however, they were ETB easy to build. That box set also contained a “Mini” rulebook too for Warhammer 40k which also had value.Chaos Space Marines have fared better over the last few years, but not to a significant degree. Whilst they haven’t been in the limelight anywhere near as much as their hated loyalist foes, their range has been bolstered with the addition of the occasional new model – but again, the rate at which these have been received hasn’t come close to certain other factions within the Warhammer 40,000 franchise.

Perhaps the more highly anticipated half of this box set are all the new Eldar Aeldari Craftworlds miniatures, but that Warpsmith for Chaos is looking hot too! Eldar Autarch Plastic Miniature: Eldritch Omens Rangers retain their role as a sneaky Troop option for the Craftworlds, but upgraded to bring them in line with other snipers and scouts. They’re now popping off shots at a base BS2+, meaning that they can still hit on 3s if you’ve got them on the move for Battle Focus shenanigans, and their rifles get AP-1 now (while still being able to snipe and deal mortals on 6s to wound), meaning they’re a little more threatening to targets than they were. Bolster your gangs with four extremely expendable Hive Scum or get revenge on the major Houses of the Hive by forming an entire Outcast Gang. These versatile underhivers can form a gang of their own or join House Gangs as Hive Scum by being hired or through gang tactics and campaign choices, so it’s always worth having some spare scum to hand. I’m not a fan of the Campaign Book, it has to be said. A great deal of effort has been spent on ensuring the setting and narrative aspects of the box are fully established and explored, and whilst it’s somewhat predictable, it is nonetheless quite good fun. The same effort doesn’t seem to have been afforded to the rules themselves, though, and what energy there is attributed to this part of the book has been spread quite thinly.

Helping with that is the mobility that their warp-jump generators are going to give them, and also provide to the Autarch here. These grant a 12″ FLY move, and let the unit move 2d6″ with Battle Focus at a risk of a Mortal on a double 1″, very much increasing the chance that they’ll be able to scuttle to safety. As you may have seen above, I have attached one of these to my Autarch, and do not expect to regret that decision – having a key character (and their fusion gun) be able to get where you need them is always super valuable. Also valuable are the things the Banshee Mask provides, and frankly you may need to sit down for this one. This provides three different effects – no Overwatch (fine), -1A to anything in engagement range (extremely good, as Shadowkeepers success at LVO showed) and also Fight Last, consistently one of the best Warlord Trait/Relic options on any character that wants to be near a fight, but as a piece of wargear you can just buy, as a treat. Yes please. If you do pull the trigger on this box, you can always sell off the side you may not want if you can’t find someone to split it with on release. Here’s all the latest on the upcoming rules updates and points changes for Warhammer 40k. Another Eldar staple has gotten new miniatures, this time the Rangers! Also included in the kit is a little icon of Kurnous, the god of the hunt. We would expect to see these models to be on the same 28mm bases that were included with the Howling Banshees when they were released in the fall of 2019.
