So you change the scene on the fly and have tons of controls for almost everything.... I went for the launchpad with Control XL. The Control XL only works fully…with live 9.1.4. The quality of the unit is good, it`s solid enough..and the faders are long which is how I like it. The APC faders are much shorther. The Control XL with Launchpad S is a pretty awesome combo though, and both units are better quality that the new APC40 mk 2. Don't expect to be able to use either of those with Groovebox, I think Launchkey is the only supported controller. Also pretty sure they won't work with Cubasis mixer either, you can use it with synths/FX hosted in Cubasis though . If you only see one MIDI port, select ‘Configuration’ > ‘New Configuration’ and name the new configuration ‘HUI’. The lower row of buttons is used for Mute, Solo or Record Arm. You can chose which parameter you want to control using the ‘Mute’, ‘Solo’ and ‘Record Arm’ buttons on the right-hand side of the unit.
