This large 200cm by 132cm Self-Inflating Mat is placed 10cm above the ground, offering plenty of protection, support and comfort away from the cold floor or rough terrain. This increased size away from the floor allows the 3D design to spread its wings as the upright walls around the mattress can raise the structure to display an even amount of space all around the surface. This is much better than comparable airbeds and inflatable mattresses as they tend to have a ‘rounded’ shape which results in you losing the extra amount of space towards the edges of your mat, but not with the Shangri-La II 10 Double - you get all the space you need at a great price! In use, the comfort is very good indeed, and provides just enough support for up to around 15 stone in weight. If more support is needed then air can be blown into the top valve – this makes the top surface more taut, but less comfortable. If you're after extreme comfort when camping and maybe even a spare bed for home visitors, this really is the ultimate camping bed for you. A full-size inflatable single bed base which can be paired with another for a full (140cm) wide double bed, this really is luxury. It's a massive 25cm deep, too, lifting your snoozing form up into the warmer air in the tent, as well as being so far from the cold floor that you may as well be in a hot air balloon. Another important benefit here is that the chances of puncturing your mattress with a sharp stone are near zero, as it's safely elevated.

The comfort of the MondoKing is exceptionally good. Perfect to practice your gymnastic routine on after a few beers! One aspect that I struggled with a bit was that if you just leave it to self inflate, you'll end up with a mattress that's on the softer side. So much so that if you put all your weight down in one area, you will hit the ground underneath (this sensation is exacerbated if you go for a one-person-on-a-double situation, so choose wisely before scaling up so you can starfish). However, if you spread out a bit and you've got a lovely cushiony soft surface that's amongst the very comfiest camping beds I've ever slept on. You can feel if a mattress-mate shifts around next to you, but the movement is dulled, so you won't have the sensation of being near bounced out of the tent, as can be the case with air mattresses. The Comfort 10 is available in single (200 x 60cm), grande (200 x 76cm) or double (200 x 130cm) sizes. It sits somewhere between a shallow inflatable camping mat and a chunky inflatable mattress and takes the best points from each, with a stable, flat sleep surface covered with soft-touch fabric. In fact, it feels most like sleeping on a foam mattress rather than an air mattress.
