This book is a reflection on how the Jewel Garden, and the garden in which it is set (known as Longmeadow on the TV although I don't believe that's its actual name), came into being, after the Dons' original jewelry business failed and left them broke and jobless.It’s perfect for pairing with other dark-coloured tulips, or contrasting with opposite colours, such as orange. The descriptions of feelings at being out in the garden are exactly so - especially about " once mt boots are on ". It is something like a blog, with noteworthy remarks about plants and flowers, but also includes their joys and sorrows and many times, just some very sweet observations. Then he explains how, with the addition of ornamentals, the original veg garden evolved into the Cottage Garden. Their life settles down and together they plan the garden(s) that viewers now see week in, week out.
