Electric Paint is non-toxic, dries at room temperature, and can be applied onto any non-conductive, non-hydrophobic surfaces, like paper, plastic, textiles, or wood.

This level of conductivity is more similar to the high conductivity of silver-coated surfaces but at a much lower cost. Our Printed Sensor product is an example of an effective pattern, optimising the capabilities of the sensor for proximity sensing. The paint is expensive because of the high silver content but because it is so conductive, a small amount goes a long way.Most importantly, the paint is now complemented by a product range which includes hardware, printed sensors, and development kits. Originally developed for use in printed electronics, applications for these materials were traditionally reserved for printing the PCBs (printed circuit boards) that live inside electronic devices, like the smartphones and computers we use every day. Compared to metal conductors like silver, nickel or copper, graphite has a higher electrical resistivity, but it is much easier to source, and can be used in large quantities at a low cost. Wax moulds should be washed carefully in dilute neutral detergent and dried thoroughly before applying Conductive Paint, to remove debris and oily patches. This paint can be used with our electroforming kit but, due to its super high conductivity, can be used with other tank plating kits and brush plating kits.

Spheres are not optimal for conductivity, but can provide a smooth finish and increased conductivity when used in conjunction with flakes. Our printed sensors allow us to create bespoke interfaces, detect unwelcome guests or gather anonymous data about users, even monitor water leaks.
